Description
President Dazarn is the supreme leader of the Dazarn army, the alien military force that stands as the central antagonist presence in the story. He is presented as a stern and commanding authoritarian figure, an older leader marked visually by his beard, who oversees his forces from his home world and directs the campaign to seize the energy technology he believes is the only way to save his people.

His background is rooted in the crisis of his home world. Dazarn Star has suffered severe environmental destruction and is on the verge of becoming uninhabitable. Confronted with the collapse of his planet, Dazarn learned of the Energy Heart, an immensely powerful energy device created on Apollo Star, and of its activation terminal, the Key Energy. Roughly sixteen years before the events of the series, he chose to obtain these through military force rather than through contact or negotiation. He led the full might of the Dazarn army against Apollo Star, overwhelming its planetary defenses and destroying the Apollo Kingdom. The entire planet was ruined, and the infant prince of Apollo Star escaped to Earth only because the retainer Rabi fled with him, carrying the Key Energy. After the fall of Apollo Star, Dazarn continued his pursuit, turning his attention to Earth and launching repeated invasions in an effort to recover the Key Energy.

His motivations are defined by desperation rather than simple greed. The series eventually reveals that his attack on Apollo Star was not an act of ambition or conquest for its own sake. He needed the Energy Heart to power a purification system capable of restoring his dying home world, and his wish to save Dazarn Star is presented as genuine. At the same time, the story emphasizes the tragedy of his choices. He resorted to invasion without ever attempting peaceful means, and the narrative notes that King Apollo would have been willing to help had he been approached properly. Dazarn's willingness to sacrifice entire worlds, his own soldiers, and even the civilians he was trying to protect shows a leader hardened by desperation, whose methods made him a destroyer even while his goal was survival.

In the story, he functions as the supreme commander and the driving force behind all enemy operations. He directs the Dazarn army's Earth invasion from his position of authority, ordering the deployment of the army's animal-like mecha beasts and dispatching a succession of officers to eliminate the young hero Takeshi and the UFO Youth Corps. He also holds Queen Apollo, Takeshi's mother, prisoner on Dazarn Star, a detail that gives the final confrontation its personal stakes. In the climax, his campaign collapses when his own son, the commander of the Earth invasion headquarters, turns against the path his father set and sacrifices himself to free the queen. Takeshi then uses the Key Energy to activate the Energy Heart and purify Dazarn Star, achieving the very salvation that Dazarn had tried to claim through destruction. His defeat comes not from his own change of heart but from the protagonist's decision to save his world anyway, an outcome that underscores how unnecessary his path of conquest had been.

His key relationships are with the officers and family members around him. Most important is Giranik, his son, who serves as the supreme commander of the Earth invasion headquarters. Giranik is loyal and dutiful in carrying out his father's orders, but he is portrayed as more upright in nature and gradually comes to question the morality of the mission, with his final sacrificial act placing him in direct opposition to his father's methods. Beneath Giranik stand other commanders who act as instruments of Dazarn's will, including the reckless battlefield captain Hidō, the cold and calculating General Gametsu, and Hidō's sister Joket, who arrives after her brother's death. His relationship with the Apollo royal family defines the larger conflict. He destroyed the kingdom of King Apollo and Queen Apollo, took the queen as his prisoner, and made an enemy of their son, the protagonist Takeshi, who carries within him the Key Energy that Dazarn desperately seeks.

As a character, Dazarn does not undergo significant personal growth. He remains a fixed and commanding antagonist throughout, and his development comes instead through the gradual revelation of his background, which recasts his conquest as a desperate act born of a dying world. The series suggests that the Dazarn leadership, stripped of the composure needed for discussion by the collapse of their planet, fell back on the most destructive course available to them. The revelation of his true motives complicates his image as a purely evil conqueror, even as the story remains clear about the unacceptable cost of his methods.

His notable abilities are those of a military commander rather than a personal combatant. The series does not attribute any superhuman fighting power to him directly. His strength lies in his authority as supreme leader, his strategic direction of the Dazarn army, and the considerable resources at his command, including the production of mecha beasts and the chain of commanders who carry out his orders across the galaxy. He exercises power through his army and his position, making him the architect of the invasion even when he does not appear on the battlefield himself.
