Description
Monkagerō is a cyborg insect created by Gidoron, the ruler of the insect empire, and serves as an assassin sent to eliminate the microids. It appears in the anime adaptation of Microid S during episode seven, titled The Terror of the Burning Kagerō. Its background is rooted in its purpose as a weapon of Gidoron, designed to infiltrate and neutralize the microid threat through stealth and manipulation. In terms of personality, Monkagerō is cunning and deceptive, employing psychological tactics rather than direct confrontation. It uses its ability to possess and control humans in order to get close to its targets, as demonstrated when it takes control of a young girl named Michiko to approach Manabu Midoro. Its primary motivation is to carry out Gidoron's orders and eliminate the microids, particularly Yanma, who is the leader of the group. Its role in the story is that of an antagonist; it infiltrates the Midoro residence and engages the microids in combat, injuring Yanma during the encounter. Monkagerō's notable abilities include the capacity to become an invisible or formless enemy, making it difficult to detect or counter. It can also emit seven distinct types of poisonous powders, which it uses offensively to weaken or incapacitate its opponents. Furthermore, it can possess and control human beings, allowing it to operate within human society unnoticed and to exploit the microids' allies. Its relationships are primarily adversarial, acting as a direct threat to the three main microid characters and as a loyal servant of Gidoron. Monkagerō does not undergo significant character development, as it appears in a single episode as a disposable enemy, but its abilities and tactics contribute to the tension of that particular confrontation.
