TV-Series
Description
Arman Hassan, also known by his ring name The Strongs, serves as the primary antagonist in Tiger Mask II. He is depicted as one of the wealthiest and most powerful oil emirs in the world, a ruthless tyrant who uses his control over crude oil supplies as a weapon to achieve his goals. His country was once a colony exploited by a foreign military regime, and during a war for independence, he lost his parents and his younger sister, Kate, in enemy bombings. This tragic past shaped his philosophy that power is the only true justice in the world.
Driven by a desire for supremacy, Hassan is the owner of the Space Wrestling Federation, a powerful and feared criminal organization. His primary objective in the series is to seize control of the wrestling world from Japan and then expand his influence into other sectors. To this end, he issues an ultimatum: he will block vital oil supplies to Japan if the protagonist, Tiger Mask II, suffers a single defeat at the hands of one of his wrestlers.
Hassan is not merely a villainous manager but also a capable and bloodthirsty fighter. In his youth, while studying in New York, he witnessed a match where Stan Hansen broke the rules to defeat Bruno Sammartino, an experience that inspired him to pursue wrestling and develop a brutal style. As The Strongs, he enters the ring at the Nippon Budokan, quickly defeating the mighty André the Giant before facing Tiger Mask II in a death match for the Pyramid Champion's Belt.
Despite his tyrannical nature, Hassan demonstrates that he is not entirely evil. During his final match against Tiger Mask II, he fights with extreme fairness and integrity, revealing that he possesses the soul of a true sportsman. His character undergoes a final, tragic development when he dies of a heart attack from the blows he receives in the match, just moments before hearing the news that a revolution has succeeded in his homeland, overthrowing his regime. His key relationships are defined by his opposition to the hero, Tatsuo Aku (Tiger Mask II), and his command over the wrestlers in his Space Wrestling Federation. His most notable abilities are his immense physical power and his aggressive, rule-breaking wrestling style, honed from a young age.
