Description
Koko is a childhood friend of the white lion Leo, appearing in the anime series Leo the Lion, which is the sequel to Jungle Emperor. Known in some English dubs as Coco or Pauly Cracker, Koko belongs to a species of small animal, often depicted as a mouse or a similar small creature. He is one of the few characters who has known Leo since their youth, having been part of the same circle of animal companions in the earlier series Kimba the White Lion.

Koko's personality is defined by his loyalty, cheerfulness, and a slightly nervous but well-meaning disposition. He is not a leader or a fighter, but rather a steadfast friend who offers emotional support and comic relief. His motivations are driven by a deep sense of friendship and a desire to help Leo and his family, even when his own fears or small size make the task daunting. He is often cautious and worries about dangers, but his affection for Leo and the jungle community consistently pushes him to overcome his timidity.

In the story of Leo the Lion, Koko serves as a supportive secondary character who accompanies the main cast, which includes Leo, his mate Lea, and their cubs Rune and Rukio. While the series shifts its focus to the growth of Leo's son Rune, Koko remains a constant presence, offering advice, companionship, and a link to the past. His key relationships are with Leo, whom he has known since childhood, and with Kitty, often known as Lyra in other versions, who is another close friend from their younger days.

Koko does not undergo a dramatic character transformation through the series. His development is more subtle, shown in his growing confidence as he faces the many dangers of the jungle alongside his friends, and his deepening commitment to the next generation, particularly to Leo's cubs. His notable abilities are not physical strength or combat skill, but rather his agility, his keen senses as a small animal, and his intimate knowledge of the jungle terrain, which he uses to scout, warn others, and assist in rescues. His primary strength lies in his friendship and his unwavering support for Leo's vision of a peaceful jungle.
