Fatema, a powerful mage renowned as "The Mage of Beginning," shares an ancient friendship with Vermeil. Approximately 200 years after "The Continent's" destruction, Vermeil grew exhausted from human persecution and violence. To shield her from the hostile world, Fatema sealed Vermeil within a grimoire, hoping she might someday find acceptance and love.

Fatema later resurfaces as a residual memory within that same sealing tome. When Iolite's actions plunge Vermeil into a coma, Fatema guides Alto Goldfield through Vermeil's memories. She unveils Vermeil's painful history to Alto, challenging him to accept her despite her past. After Alto confirms his unwavering acceptance, Fatema judges him worthy of Vermeil and entrusts her friend to his care. In a separate encounter, she manifests in Alto’s dream as a white-robed figure, presenting him with a choice between "two paths" awaiting his future.

Her magical legacy includes being the first to ever reach the abyss of the magical world.
