Description
Drill Diver is a supporting robot from the television series The Brave Express Might Gaine. He is a member of the Divers, a specialized subgroup within the Brave Express Team that also includes Fire Diver, Jet Diver, and Police Diver. True to his name, Drill Diver’s primary alternate mode is a formidable drill tank, a form that grants him unique operational abilities among his teammates. Specifically, he possesses the highest level of endurance of the Divers group and is the only member capable of tunneling underground and boring directly through the structures of buildings.
In the context of the team’s combined form, Drill Diver serves a crucial structural role. He can join with his three teammates to form the larger, more powerful robot known as Guard Diver, where he constitutes the entire left leg of the combined machine. This function highlights his role as a sturdy and reliable foundation for the team's primary defensive and combative assets.
For personal armament, Drill Diver is equipped with several built-in weapons systems. His primary offensive tool is the Drill Grenade, a universal combat launcher. He also possesses machine gun ports mounted on the tops of his shoulders. Another piece of equipment is the Drill Harken, which allows the caterpillar tracks on his shoulders to be extended outward to strike an enemy, although this particular weapon was never used in the animated series itself.
Drill Diver made his first appearance alongside the rest of the Divers in the fourth episode of the series. During this debut, he responded to a disaster at a tower, utilizing his drilling capability to carve a path through the rubble to reach civilians in need of rescue. Later in the same episode, he combined with his teammates for the first time to assist the lead robot, Might Gaine, in defeating an enemy.
Regarding personality and development, very little specific information is available. As a member of the Divers, whose focus is on rescue operations, he operates as part of a unit known for being composed and level-headed. His individual motivations and personal growth throughout the series do not have a significant focus, as the narrative primarily concentrated on the series' human characters and main robots. Consequently, details about his personal relationships beyond his functional role as a member of the Divers and component of Guard Diver are not well-documented.
