OVA
Description
Chino Kafū, a reserved and mature girl, works at the Rabbit House café founded by her grandfather. She speaks politely and formally, maintaining a calm, emotionless demeanor that rarely reveals open smiles, even when happy—a speech pattern developed from constant childhood exposure to customers and older individuals. She resents being treated like a child due to her young age and short stature, though she occasionally displays childish tendencies fitting her age. Her café responsibilities foster a highly organized and serious work ethic, often leading to annoyance at reckless or noisy behavior.

A strong connection binds her to her family's café, fueling her aspiration to become a skilled barista like her grandfather, whose consciousness now resides within Tippy, an angora rabbit frequently perched on her head. To conceal Tippy's true identity, Chino learned ventriloquism. She possesses exceptional sensory abilities related to coffee, identifying beans by aroma alone and performing fortune-telling through cappuccino foam patterns. Outside work, she enjoys solitary hobbies like building intricate bottled ships and solving puzzles, with a drawing style influenced by cubism. She dislikes celery but consumes it believing it aids growth, and holds a fondness for fairy tales, trees, and rabbits—though most rabbits avoid her except Tippy and occasionally Chiya's rabbit, Anko.

Chino's development focuses on gradually opening up emotionally, particularly through friendships. Initially hesitant around Cocoa Hoto, who frequently treats her like a younger sister, she grows to rely on Cocoa deeply, becoming visibly distracted or absent-minded in her absence—once unconsciously preparing multiple hot cocoa drinks. She occasionally feels jealous of Cocoa's social ease and the attention she receives. Her middle school friends Maya Jōga and Megumi Natsu, forming the "Chimame" trio, help her socialize more comfortably. Later, she chooses to attend the same high school as Cocoa and Chiya Ujimatsu, passing the entrance exam and transitioning into this new environment.

In the OVA *Sing For You*, Chino faces personal challenges when selected for a solo performance at her school's choral concert. Despite intense stage fright, she commits partly to boost Rabbit House's popularity. Supported by rigorous vocal training from Rize Tedeza and encouragement from friends during karaoke at Ama Usa An, she prepares. Her resolve strengthens upon reflecting on her late mother, Saki Kafū, a former jazz singer whose musical legacy inspires her. Seeing Cocoa and others in the audience during the concert bolsters her confidence, leading to a successful performance that deeply moves her friends. The experience culminates in a poignant duet, "Gin no Spoon ~Blend of Memory~", symbolizing her connection to her mother's memory. This arc highlights her growing willingness to embrace challenges and express herself openly, marking significant emotional growth.
