Description
Albert Heinrich, designated Cyborg 004, originated in Cold War East Germany. His attempt to flee with his fiancée, Hilda, was discovered by border guards; the ensuing shootout led to Hilda's death and left Albert with catastrophic injuries. Recovered by the Black Ghost organization, his broken body was subjected to extensive cybernetic conversion, leaving only his brain, spine, and nervous system organic. The trauma of his past defines his personality: grim, cynical, and stoic, with a sharp tongue and dry wit, though he harbors deep compassion for his teammates, whom he considers a surrogate family. He often acts as an older brother figure, especially to Joe Shimamura, Cyborg 009. Initially despairing over his mechanical existence, he struggles with self-loathing and death-seeking tendencies, but loyalty to his comrades gives him new purpose. A tactical strategist and heavy weapons specialist, his integrated abilities include a machine gun in his right hand, an electromagnetic cutting knife in his left, and missile launchers in his knees. He shares a complex, occasionally combative bond with Jet Link, Cyborg 002. His journey involves accepting his cybernetic identity, and he has willingly sacrificed himself for his team.
