He was once the commanding officer of Mark Curran, the protagonist, during an event that forever defined their relationship. In a military exercise, one of Mark’s squadmates experienced a critical engine failure. Halle ordered Mark to abandon the soldier, deeming a rescue attempt too risky for the expensive mobile suit.
