ONA
Description
Ekusu Kurosu is the main protagonist of the series and a former member of Team Pendragon, which held the title of champion in the prestigious Beyblade competition known as The X. His success on this team showcased his remarkable abilities as a blader. Currently, he operates under a masked persona and calls himself Kamen X.
Ekusu has a deep-seated enjoyment for Beyblading and finds genuine fun in every battle, which sets him apart from professional bladers who may treat it as a job. He maintains the confident belief that Blading is, at its core, a game. He is described as someone who can be difficult to read, but his exceptional power and speed leave no doubt about his skill level. Outside of battling, Ekusu also has a noted fondness for eating sushi.
The primary driving force behind Ekusu's return to the competitive circuit is his determination to face his former teammate, Khrome Ryugu. This goal serves as his main motivation to rise to the top once again. In his quest, he forms Team Persona alongside another blader named Robin, using this new team as a vehicle to challenge his past and prove his strength. His role in the story is centered on this personal rivalry and his journey back to the highest level of competition.
Ekusu uses a series of Dran Beyblades in battle. He first wielded Sword Dran 3-60F, a flat-line type given to him by his mentor as a farewell gift. Later, he uses Dagger Dran 4-60R, a secondary blade created for him by Multi Nana-iro, though this Beyblade is eventually damaged in battle against Khrome. His unique main Beyblade is Dran Buster 1-60A, also made by Multi for the final game of The X, which similarly gets destroyed in his final confrontation with Khrome.
Ekusu is known for his powerful signature techniques, all of which are variations of the Xtreme Dash. This basic move occurs when the gears on a Beyblade's Bit interact with the gears on the X-Celerator Rail in the Xtreme Stadium, dramatically increasing the Beyblade's speed. He has developed several advanced versions, including the Xtreme Dash Double, which accelerates the Beyblade a second time for a stronger blow; the Xtreme Dash Triple, which does so for a third strike; and the Xtreme Dash ∞, also called Xtreme Dash Infinite, where the Beyblade continuously performs the dash to constantly increase its speed. Other techniques include the Xtreme Dash Buster, which concentrates all of the Beyblade's power into a single attack, and the highly precise Xtreme Dash Dragonic Break, which involves riding the entire X-Celerator Rail twice, launching into the air, and landing back on the rail to complete a second lap.
