Description
Nami Yamigumo is a Shinto priestess from the Yamigumo family, a lineage that has long presided over sacred rites and the protection of Japan. In Silent Möbius Gaiden: Bakumatsu Anbu Shimatsu-Ki, she is portrayed as the past life of the character who appears in the main Silent Möbius series, living during the turbulent Bakumatsu period of the 19th century. She is calm, composed, and deeply traditional, often seen wearing a kimono or priestly attire, and carries herself with the quiet dignity expected of someone entrusted with ancient spiritual duties.

Her background is rooted in the Yamigumo family’s role as keepers of a Shinto shrine and guardians of five sacred relics. Nami wields two of these relics: the Kirin Dagger and the White Tiger Sword, which she uses in combat against dark forces. She also employs ofuda (paper talismans) and holy water for exorcism and purification. Her training in these arts makes her a reliable and effective fighter against supernatural threats.

Nami’s personality is the most tranquil among her companions, preferring order and cleanliness. She is motivated by a sense of duty to her family heritage and a desire to protect the innocent from the evil that invades the world. In the story, she serves as a key member of a group of women who combat these forces, lending her spiritual expertise and unwavering resolve. Her relationships with the other members are professional and cooperative, though she maintains a reserved and courteous demeanor.

Throughout the narrative, Nami remains a steady presence, developing further as she shoulders the responsibilities of her lineage. Her notable abilities include the power to detect supernatural entities, the mastery of the sacred relics, and the use of Shinto rituals to create barriers and purify corruption. These skills, combined with her composed nature, define her role as a guardian in the Bakumatsu era.
