Description
Lua is a Saintess candidate in the Kingdom of Zied, introduced as an orphaned baron’s daughter who grew up in the temple. Her unique healing ability allows her to cure others, but only by physically transferring their wounds and ailments onto her own body. Because of this flaw, she is mocked and bullied by other temple inhabitants, who label her the “Fallen Saintess.”

At the start of the story, Lua is characterized by extreme self‑sacrifice and a desire to belong. She endures constant pain in the hope that her suffering will earn her a place among her peers. Her only apparent friend is Arianne, a fellow Saintess candidate who seems to defend her. Lua also harbors a deep crush on Commander Garrett Vance of the Royal Knights.

The turning point comes when Garrett is mortally wounded by a demonic beast. Lua heals him at the cost of her own near‑death collapse. When she awakens a month later, she discovers that Arianne has taken full credit for the healing, is engaged to Garrett, and is being groomed as the temple’s new Saintess. This betrayal shatters Lua’s worldview and forces her to see Arianne’s true manipulative nature.

Lua’s personality undergoes a radical transformation. She abandons her former martyrdom and embraces a cold, vengeful resolve. She begins using her healing power in reverse, inflicting pain on those who once mistreated her and taking grim satisfaction in their suffering. Her central motivation becomes retribution against everyone who exploited her kindness, especially Arianne and the temple hierarchy.

Her despair attracts the attention of Prince Sven, the kingdom’s second prince. Sven reveals that the temple’s High Priest is conspiring to release an artificial, incurable disease to boost the temple’s political power through a false cure administered by Arianne. After confirming the plot, Lua allies with Sven, forming a strategic partnership built on mutual distrust of the current power structure. Sven provides resources and guidance, helping Lua reinvent herself as a figure of agency and menace.

Lua’s key relationships are defined by betrayal and alliance. Arianne is her former best friend and primary antagonist, a cold social climber who views Lua as a toy. Garrett is the unwitting object of Lua’s former affection; he remains loyal to Arianne based on a lie, and his eventual realization of the truth comes too late to repair the damage. Sven acts as a mentor and benefactor, encouraging Lua to channel her resentment into power.

Lua’s development is a deliberate shift from victim to villainess. She discards her old identity, renounces her former prayers for endurance, and declares that she now prays for the strength to destroy. Her arc involves learning to use her pain as a weapon, both literally and politically. She openly tells the high council that every bruise she took for the kingdom is a debt she intends to collect with interest.

Her notable abilities center on her flawed healing magic. Initially a burden, it becomes a tool of vengeance when she learns to apply it offensively. She can transfer her own accumulated pain onto others, expose Arianne’s lack of genuine healing power during public confrontations, and systematically dismantle the temple’s reputation. Her experience with suffering also gives her an unshakable resolve in the face of intimidation.

Throughout the story, Lua moves from being a passive, self‑effacing healer to an active agent of retribution. She reclaims her narrative, states that she is not the girl who died in the infirmary but the woman who walked out of her grave, and ultimately works with Sven to expose the temple’s conspiracy while securing her own form of justice.
