Description
Hikōman is a flying robot employed by the criminal organization BAD, appearing in the seventh episode of Robot Keiji, titled A Terror Above. His design is themed around an airplane or a bat, featuring a pair of bat-like wings that grant him the ability to fly. This aerial capability defines his entire method of operation, allowing him to approach targets from above and strike from a position of advantage.

In terms of personality, Hikōman is presented as a cold and methodical enforcer. He speaks in a direct and threatening manner, showing no hesitation in carrying out his assigned assassinations. When a young boy named Shigeru witnesses one of his murders, Hikōman warns the child sternly to keep silent, threatening his life if he tells anyone. This reveals a calculated side to his character, as he prefers to eliminate witnesses when necessary but also uses intimidation to maintain the secrecy of BAD's operations. He does not display any sense of mercy or moral conflict, acting purely as a tool for the organization's contract killing business.

Hikōman's primary motivation is to fulfill the contracts assigned to him by BAD. In the episode, he is hired by a man named Hayashi, who wants to eliminate his business rivals in order to take control of a company. Hikōman carries out these murders without question, showing loyalty to BAD's transactional model of crime. He operates under the organization's rules, which treat murder as a business service, and he is driven by the need to complete his assignments successfully and collect payment.

In the story, Hikōman serves as the antagonist for the episode, creating a direct threat to the main characters. He first kills a company president named Miyata and later murders a managing director. His presence forces the robot detective K and the human detective Shinjo to protect the young witness Shigeru and his family. Hikōman's ability to fly gives him a tactical edge, and he uses hit-and-run tactics, attacking from the air and then escaping before the authorities can close in. His role is to demonstrate the kind of specialized, mobile threat that BAD can deploy, challenging K both physically and strategically.

Hikōman's key relationships are with his employer, Hayashi, and with his adversary, the robot detective K. With Hayashi, he maintains a businesslike arrangement, following the terms of their contract. With K, he is locked in direct conflict. Their confrontations form the core of the episode's action, with K initially struggling to counter Hikōman's aerial attacks and extendable arm. Hikōman also has an indirect relationship with the young boy Shigeru, whom he views as a loose end to be silenced. The character does not undergo significant development within his single appearance, remaining a consistent and focused threat from beginning to end.

Hikōman's most notable ability is his flight, which allows him to move through the air with speed and maneuverability. His wings are bat-like in shape, and he uses them to soar above buildings and descend on targets. His primary weapon is a mechanical arm stored within his chest, which he can extend like a grappling device. The hand at the end of this arm is used to grasp victims by the neck and strangle them, a precise and efficient method of killing. He also demonstrates a magnetic tracking ability, having the capacity to implant a magnetic trace on individuals so that he can locate them anywhere. This makes him a persistent pursuer, and he uses this capability to track Shigeru to the home of detective Shiba. In combat, he relies on his flight to maintain distance and his extendable arm to strike from afar, but he is also shown to be capable in close-quarters grappling. Ultimately, his weakness is exposed when K manages to attach a transmitter to him, allowing K to track his movements and set a trap. Hikōman is finally destroyed when K shoots him with the robot destruction gun, causing him to explode in midair.
