Description
Naoakira Saimon is a 34-year-old man who leads a double life as a university professor of linguistics by day and the owner of a bar called Bar 4/7 by night. He stands 183 centimeters tall, has black hair slicked back with two loose strands in front, golden eyes, a neatly trimmed beard, and wears black-rimmed spectacles with gold handles. His blood type is B and his birthday is September 18. He serves as the leader of the hip-hop team The Cat’s Whiskers, using the MC name Kotonoha.

Naoakira is consistently calm and collected, treating everyone with equal kindness and never discriminating. He has an innate inability to abandon anyone in need, which drives much of his behavior. Despite his composed exterior, he is emotionally vulnerable and cries easily. He harbors a deep attachment to the bar he manages, which represents a safe haven for himself and others.

His background is marked by loss. He was once part of a group called Quadra-X alongside his friend Yohei Kanbayashi and his wife Tsubaki. The group was successful enough to perform overseas, but it disbanded after Tsubaki’s death. Naoakira made the difficult decision to turn off his wife’s life support, an event that deeply traumatized him. This experience left him with a strong fear of losing anything else, reflected in his personal mantra: "No more... I don't want to lose anything else."

His motivations center on preserving what remains of his connections and creating a place where people can belong. He takes in and cares for those who are struggling, as demonstrated when he rescued Shiki Ando, a withdrawn young man who ran away from home. Naoakira’s key relationships are with his fellow team members: Yohei Kanbayashi, an old friend and the bar’s barkeep; Ryu Natsume, a flamboyant and self-proclaimed number-one rapper; and Shiki Ando, whom he treats as family. He also had a past bond with his late wife Tsubaki.

Within the story of Paradox Live THE ANIMATION, Naoakira leads The Cat’s Whiskers in stage battles, using his linguistic skill and emotional depth as a rapper. He is described as a magician with words, able to craft lyrics that resonate powerfully. Notable abilities include his expertise in linguistics and his talent for cooking, which is his hobby. His weaknesses include physical exercise and his tendency to cry easily. Over the course of the narrative, he develops by confronting his past grief and learning to trust and rely on his new team, transforming his bar and his music into a vessel for healing rather than just a reminder of loss.
