Description
Ryōta Takeuchi is a Japanese voice actor and narrator born on September 22, 1982, in Kobe, Hyōgo Prefecture. He is affiliated with Aoni Production and stands 180 cm tall. He gained wider recognition for significant supporting and lead roles in major anime franchises. He is well known for his portrayal of the stoic and powerful Wakatoshi Ushijima in the long-running sports anime Haikyu!!. Another landmark role is that of the enigmatic mage Elias Ainsworth, the male lead in The Ancient Magus' Bride. His filmography also includes the role of Ren in Dramatical Murder, Asgeir in Vinland Saga, and Gaburoon in Made in Abyss: The Golden City of the Scorching Sun. Other notable anime roles include Goemon in Skeleton Knight in Another World, Gemma Garrison in Scarlet Nexus, Kazuhiko Sakuragi in The Yakuza's Guide to Babysitting, Shidō Tennōji in Hinomaru Sumo, Naoakira Saimon in Paradox Live The Animation, Histoire in Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma, and Kamo Serizawa in The Blue Wolves of Mibu.
Beyond anime, Takeuchi has voiced characters in numerous video games. His game credits include Ringabel in Bravely Default, various characters in the Samurai Warriors series, and the Avenger-class servant in Fate/Grand Order. He is also active in dubbing foreign content, providing the Japanese voice for characters such as Savage Opress in Star Wars: The Clone Wars. His work extends to narration for documentaries and live-action projects.
Takeuchi is married to fellow voice actress Ai Terashima, and they collaborate professionally in the indie music group ØGauge with her brother, Hiroki Terashima.
