Description
Doll is a member of the elite team known as the Three Stars, which serves as a part of the Kingdom of Stella's army. He is a tall and burly man with dark skin, distinguished by his green hair styled into dreadlocks with stones attached to the ends. Tribal tattoos decorate his chest, and his attire consists of light blue tribal half-arm sleeves and a matching light blue skirt featuring a skull on the front, complemented by tattered black pants and gloves.
In terms of personality, Doll is a stern and non-talkative individual. His most defining trait is his unwavering loyalty, demonstrated by how quickly he responds to the call of the king, Animus, especially when the mission is to protect the king's aide, Sonya. Despite his quiet and serious demeanor, he is quite expressive in his own way, often flexing his muscles in manly poses during combat. A deeply affectionate side of his character is revealed through his relationship with his magical weapons, two dolls named Francois Catherine. He shows great love for these dolls, treating them with an almost paternal care. He refers to them as his daughters, becomes angry when they are insulted, and is visibly upset when they are damaged or soaked by water attacks.
Doll's primary motivation and role in the story are rooted in his duty as a protector of the Kingdom of Stella. He is summoned by Animus to pursue Natsu Dragneel and his team from Fairy Tail after they become involved in the theft of the Dragon Cry staff. He serves as a formidable obstacle, demonstrating the elite power of the Three Stars by confronting the main characters. In a key confrontation, Doll battles Gray Fullbuster and Juvia Lockser. During this fight, his loyalty and protective nature are on full display as he fights to stop the intruders. His key relationships are with his comrades in the Three Stars, Swan and Gapri, and his sovereign, Animus. His entire purpose in the film's conflict is driven by his service to Animus and his duty to safeguard Sonya.
Doll's development is limited within the film, as he remains a loyal antagonist for the duration. However, a notable change occurs after the climax of the film. Following the death of Animus, Doll is seen in a peaceful resolution, cooking for the civilians of Altair alongside his fellow Three Stars members, with his cherished dolls even assisting him in stirring the pot. This final scene shows him integrated into the peaceful aftermath, his combative role ended.
Doll possesses notable abilities centered on the use of Curse Magic, which he employs to control two flying dolls called Francois Catherine. These dolls are his primary weapons in battle, capable of producing powerful blasts of fire from their mouths. They can also engulf themselves in flames to charge at enemies with immense speed, making them versatile tools for both ranged and melee assault. This magic makes him a dangerous opponent, as the dolls can act independently and with great force, overwhelming opponents before they can react.
