Jochen Haegele is a German actor who was born in Stuttgart, Germany, in 1975. He moved to France with his family at a young age, where he became fluent in French. He trained in drama at the prestigious Cours Florent acting school in Paris from 1993 to 1996. He is a multilingual performer, working professionally in German, French, and English.
While he is a versatile film and television actor with a long international career, he is widely recognized for his extensive work in voice acting, particularly for the French dubbing of anime series and films. He provides the French voices for numerous characters, often lending his voice to multiple roles within a single series.
His most prominent anime voice role is in the long-running series Bleach, where he voices several key characters in the French version. These include the young captain Tōshirō Hitsugaya, the lieutenants Yumichika Ayasegawa and Kaname Tōsen, and Zangetsu, the spirit of Ichigo's Zanpakutō. He reprised these roles for the film Bleach: The DiamondDust Rebellion and the sequel series Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War.
In the series Assassination Classroom, he voiced the principal Gakuho Asano, as well as the characters Lovro and Smog. He also contributed his voice to the series Tokyo Ghoul and its second season, Tokyo Ghoul √A, as the investigator Yukinori Shinohara. In the film The Piano Forest, he played the role of Sôsuke Ajino.
Beyond anime, Haegele is also the official French dubbing voice for the German actor Daniel Brühl, providing the French voice for his performances in films such as Rush, Woman in Gold, The Zookeeper's Wife, and All Quiet on the Western Front.
