Description
Emden is an adult male slave boxer from Pompeii, renowned as the city's most popular champion. He possesses a muscular build yet remains relatively petite for his age, with short greyish hair, red eyes, and slightly tanned skin. He wears standard slave attire.

Purchased as a child by the wealthy Poppea Sabina, Emden secured his place in her household through a violent competition she initiated. She declared she would buy only the hardest-working child, triggering a bloody battle among the enslaved children. Emden and another child, Nashca, became the final contenders. Though Nashca used his larger size to pin Emden down, Emden retaliated with a headbutt that shattered Nashca's nose, forcing immediate surrender.

Emden served the Sabina household for years while building his boxing career, eventually facing limitations due to his petite stature. His progress stalled until he met Democritus of Cádiz, who identified flaws in his technique and offered rigorous training. This regimen focused on correcting weaknesses, strengthening Emden's lower body, and refining fundamentals. Under Democritus's mentorship, Emden achieved multiple victories and gained significant confidence. He also mastered the Decapitator technique—a hammer fist strike targeting the medulla oblongata, capable of causing numbness, memory loss, or instant death. After using it to kill two opponents, Emden vowed to abstain from the technique due to its lethality, coinciding with Democritus's unexplained departure.

Emden maintains a serious, competitive, and disciplined personality. He trains relentlessly without interruption, viewing boxing as the path to true strength. His relationship with his owner, Sabina, is complex; purchased by her as a child, he consistently seeks her approval despite her self-centered and increasingly vain nature. His efforts to please her often yield only modest praise or indifference, fueling persistent frustration. In combat, he fights fairly but ruthlessly, showing no mercy to opponents, reflecting his iron will to remain undefeated.

As Pompeii's most powerful slave boxer, Emden holds an undefeated record with 48 consecutive wins. His unique training involves maintaining a low center-of-gravity posture while carrying weights on his limbs, enhancing leg strength and defensive capabilities. He employs specialized thick gloves extending to his elbows for offense and defense, demonstrating considerable arm strength. His fighting style emphasizes flexibility, solid defense, and proficiency in back strikes, wide swings, hammer fists, and palm strikes. He executes swift combinations, including an unnamed three-hit sequence of a back strike, downward swing, and straight fist. The Decapitator remains his most formidable technique, typically activated by luring opponents into targeting his stomach—a position allowing him to strike downward at their exposed neck.
