Description
Heroman is the title character and a central figure of the narrative, originally a broken toy robot known as a Heybo. This toy was discarded and found by a young boy named Joey Jones, who repaired it and gave it the name Heroman. The toy's transformation into a giant being is triggered by a strange bolt of lightning, which in the anime is a phenomenon connected to the arrival of an alien fleet known as the Skrugg. This event imbues the robot with immense electrical power and brings it to life, turning it into a powerful protector.

In terms of personality, Heroman does not speak and is largely an enigmatic presence, communicating not through words but through actions and a deep empathetic link with its master, Joey. It is able to sense Joey's emotions and feelings, and it acts upon them. This connection is the core of its personality; when Joey is calm and determined, Heroman is a controlled and powerful ally. However, when Joey is overwhelmed by intense negative emotions such as fear or anger, especially when he perceives his friends or family are in danger, Heroman can enter a uncontrollable berserker state. In this state, its body may turn red, and it becomes far more aggressive and violent, attacking any perceived threat relentlessly.

Heromana's primary motivation is intrinsically tied to its role as a protector. It does not possess personal ambitions or desires separate from its function. Its entire existence is dedicated to defending Earth from the Skrugg and other dangers, acting under Joey's command. Its role in the story is that of a physical powerhouse, a giant robot whose immense strength and electrical abilities are Earth's main line of defense against the alien invasion. While Joey provides the strategic direction and heart, Heroman is the tangible force that battles the monstrous enemies.

The most significant relationship is with Joey Jones, who acts as its controller. Joey uses a special gauntlet that was reconfigured from the toy's original controller to issue commands such as Attack, Go, and Augment. While Heroman is not entirely autonomous and relies on these commands for specific actions, it does exhibit a degree of independence, determining how to execute the general orders it receives. The bond between the two is symbiotic; their synchronization links their stamina, so when Heroman fights, Joey also becomes tired. Furthermore, their connection appears to unlock or amplify latent abilities in Joey, such as the generation of protective force fields and super speed.

Heroman undergoes notable development throughout the series, much of which is tied to its relationship with Joey. The empathetic bond strengthens, and Heroman's capabilities grow as Joey matures and gains confidence. This evolution is also physical; near the end of the series, Heroman is outfitted with special armor by an organization called the NIA. This powered armor includes an attached glider and a heads-up display, augmenting its combat abilities. A significant visual detail revealed later in the story is that Heroman's face bears a striking resemblance to Joey's deceased father, a fact that deepens the symbolic and emotional significance of the robot as a heroic guardian figure.

Heroman's notable abilities revolve entirely around electricity. It can absorb any form of electrical energy from its surroundings to replenish its own strength and repair damage. Conversely, its power can be drained if electricity is drawn from it. Offensively, it has several distinct modes activated by Joey's controller. The Blast command causes electricity to violently surge from its body, charging its fists for a powerful punch. The Augment command allows Heroman to grow to the size of a multi-story building, though this form consumes stamina rapidly. The Magneto command transforms it into a massive electromagnet, attracting metal and even creating electric tendrils. Its ultimate attack is the O Spark, a devastating, massive beam of pure energy fired from the red ring on its chest, which is powerful enough to obliterate almost anything in its path.
