Description
Gaburoon serves as an Interference Unit within the Abyss's sixth layer, known as the Shourou Layer. Tasked with observing and interacting to accumulate knowledge, Gaburoon remains the sole active unit of its kind after transmissions from others ceased long ago, hinting at their malfunction or destruction. Gaburoon communicates through speech, punctuated by a distinctive "gooon" sound.
This robotic entity possesses a large upper body framed by jagged, beak-like structures and an oval metal casing. A cape drapes from beneath this frame, shrouding Gaburoon's shoulders and back. An open cart-like structure crowns its form, potentially for transporting individuals. It moves on two relatively small legs and wields extendable forearms reminiscent of Reg's: a cannon-equipped right arm and a pincer-tipped left. The structural parallels led Gaburoon to suspect a shared creator with Reg, though no data confirms Reg as an Interference Unit.
Immobile from severe damage, Gaburoon encountered Faputa. Their bond deepened as Gaburoon instructed Faputa in the Abyss's languages—Pictograms, Nether Glyphs, and Beyond Glyphs—while Faputa supplied repair materials. They named each other: Gaburoon bestowed "Faputa" upon the princess, and she reciprocated with "Gaburoon," meaning "Queen's Guardian" in Abyssal, cementing its role as her protector.
When a Turbinid-Dragon inflicted critical damage, Reg defended Gaburoon until repairs finished. During this period, Reg befriended Faputa, and Gaburoon revealed Faputa's innate compulsion to destroy the Village of Iruburu. In the Iruburu arc, Gaburoon covertly aided Faputa in guiding Riko's group through the sixth layer, moving objects and delivering Prushka's Stone to the village for crafting. Gaburoon urged Faputa to engage directly with Riko's team, but she declined.
Demonstrating unwavering loyalty, Gaburoon rescued Reg from a Turbinid-Dragon and cautioned against lingering in Iruburu. It remained Faputa's guardian, repelling creatures drawn by her blood after she traded body parts for Nanachi. As Faputa attacked Riko in retribution for Reg's amnesia, Gaburoon intercepted the strike, sacrificing itself to shield Riko. This intervention stemmed from its conviction that harming Riko would irrevocably estrange Faputa from Reg.
During the village invasion, a mortally wounded Gaburoon attempted to protect Faputa from another Turbinid-Dragon. Voicing regret over missing Faputa's evolution beyond vengeance, Gaburoon proclaimed their shared moments as its irreplaceable "Haku" before being crushed and destroyed.
In combat, Gaburoon employed an arm-mounted cannon to launch projectiles against large creatures, though it relied on diversions against powerful adversaries. Its extendable arms enabled long-range interactions, and linguistic expertise allowed seamless communication within the Abyss. Notably, Gaburoon strictly adhered to Faputa's directive limiting conversations with villagers to twelve words.
