Description
Hitari is a male exile of apparent adult age, possessing black hair and eyes habitually obscured by the shadow of his ever-present bandana. A master archer among Tsushima's defenders, he wields exceptional skill, favoring stealth and precision in combat that mirrors his aloof and stoic demeanor. He speaks rarely and betrays little emotion.

Initially detached from the larger conflict, he declares his intent to retreat to the mountains after scouting duties. This resolve fractures after witnessing the death of the non-combatant healer Dōen, killed while protecting patients. Abandoning his reservations, Hitari launches a solitary assault of vengeance, eliminating the Mongolian cannoneers responsible. This act results in his encirclement by enemy forces.

Pinned by arrows immobilizing his limbs, Hitari manages a faint smile in his final moments. An enemy archer then kills him with a shot precisely through the mark on his bandana – an ironic fulfillment of Princess Teruhi's earlier threat to use that mark as a target. His dying words affirm his dedication: "Like I said, arrows really are the best after all."
