Teabolo Mass, a wealthy retired aristocrat, relocated to Andalusia, Spain. There, he became adoptive guardian to Casval Rem Deikun and Artesia Som Deikun after they fled Side 3 with Jimba Ral, escaping Zabi family persecution. Teabolo formally entered the siblings into his family registry under new identities—Édouard Mass and Sayla Mass—to conceal their origins and shield them from the Zabies. He treated them as his own children, providing relative stability and peace.

During this time on Earth, Artesia (Sayla) developed compassion through volunteering at refugee camps, while Casval (Édouard) remained protective of his sister, growing weary of Jimba Ral's anti-Zabi rhetoric. This peace ended when Jimba contacted Anaheim Electronics to orchestrate an armed rebellion against the Zabies. In response, Zabi commandos assassinated Jimba and attacked the Mass household, severely injuring Teabolo. Acting on Shu Yashima's advice, Teabolo then emigrated with the siblings to Side 5's Texas Colony, intending to demonstrate the Deikun heirs posed no political threat and ensure their safety.

At Texas Colony, the family lived in a house managed by Roger Aznable, the colony's chief administrator. Teabolo erected a gravestone for the children's mother, Astraia Tor Deikun, under a pseudonym to avoid attention. Later, during the Battle of Loum, anti-Zeon riots erupted across the colony. Rioters targeted the Mass home due to perceived Zeon sympathizer connections. Sayla attempted to defend the household with a rifle, but Teabolo succumbed to shock amid the violence. His death coincided with the destruction of the nearby Miranda colony sector, where Roger Aznable perished.
