Description
Dozle Zabi, the third son of Zeon's influential leader Degwin Sodo Zabi, is initially portrayed as docile and kind-hearted. His personality transforms dramatically after surviving a traumatic car bombing during Zeon Zum Deikun's funeral procession, which kills his brother Sasro and leaves Dozle severely scarred physically and emotionally. These injuries cause his facial scars to reopen and bleed during extreme temper outbursts when flustered.

Within the Autonomous Republic of Munzo's political sphere (later the Principality of Zeon), Dozle serves in the Munzo Defense Force. His bravery and straightforward character earn him popularity among soldiers, and his fair, simple nature helps reduce public animosity toward the Zabi family. By U.C. 0074, he becomes superintendent of Zeon's Space Defense Military Academy at Guardian Banchi. During the Dawn Rebellion at the academy, he encounters Zenna Mia, whose bravery impresses him; they later marry and have a daughter, Mineva Lao Zabi.

Commanding Zeon's Space Strike Fleet during the One Year War (U.C. 0079), Dozle oversees Operation British, the colony-drop operation devised by his brother Gihren. He proceeds despite moral reservations from subordinates like Ramba Ral. Privately, after the operation succeeds, he breaks down, weeping to his wife about killing millions of people "just like his daughter." At the Battle of Loum, his strategic division of the Earth Federation fleet contributes to Zeon's victory and the capture of General Revil. He interrupts celebrations to remind his troops to honor fallen comrades.

Following his brother Garma's death, Dozle dismisses Char Aznable from his command, blaming Char for Garma's demise. As the war turns against Zeon, he consolidates his forces at the asteroid fortress Solomon. During the Battle of Solomon, recognizing that his siblings Gihren and Kycilia withhold reinforcements to consolidate power, he orders his wife and daughter to evacuate. He makes a final stand piloting the mobile armor Big Zam. After sustaining critical damage in combat against Amuro Ray, Dozle ejects and fires at the Gundam with a machine gun before perishing in the Big Zam's explosion.

Dozle is characterized by loyalty to his family and subordinates, contrasting with his siblings' political ambitions. He prioritizes protecting his family's position but remains blind to the moral implications of orders from Degwin or Gihren. His complexity lies in being a devoted family man capable of wartime atrocities, yet genuinely mourning the consequences of his actions.
