Mikan appears in the series with a rebellious yet timid personality. This duality generates comedy, especially in her interactions with the protagonist Kunai and their companion Yukikaze. She joins Kunai on a journey to Rookie town and ventures into the Prison Labyrinth to help him obtain magic-resistant items. Within the dungeon, she observes Kunai facing thieves and experiencing the effects of his mysterious ring.

Her character design transitioned significantly between the first season and a later adaptation. It changed from a bikini armor aesthetic to a more practical, full-coverage adventurer outfit. This redesign brings her appearance closer to depictions in the manga and original light novel illustrations.
