Description
Satoru Nijō, also spelled Satoru Nijo, is a student at Private Tensho Academy and a member of the Going-Home Club. His appearance is marked by a beauty spot under his mouth on the left side of his face. He has dark ash blond hair styled with a symmetrical fringe on both sides, long eyebrows, and dark green eyes. His left ear features both helix and lobe piercings. He typically wears a navy-blue jacket with rolled-up sleeves over a darker blue undershirt, checkered brown pants, and mixed dark blue and green shoes. Physically, he closely resembles his twin brother, Yuto Nijō, leading to mistaken identity, such as by Kippei Uwajima during their initial meeting.
Satoru displays delinquent traits: a bad attitude, hot-headedness, harsh speech, and a tendency to skip classes. Despite this, he is very intelligent. He is not entirely antisocial, spending time with the Going-Home Club and seeming to enjoy their company. His relationship with his older twin, Yuto, is strained due to contrasting personalities, though he holds no hatred. Close in childhood, Satoru distanced himself for unspecified reasons. With help from friends Gin Kunishima and Kippei Uwajima, the twins gradually work toward reconciliation. Satoru shows genuine concern for Yuto, reacting intensely to a fabricated story about Yuto being harmed, though he refused to acknowledge it openly. His family issues extend beyond Yuto, as he has left home and severed contact with his family.
Gin Kunishima is Satoru's closest friend, described as a "friend of his heart," though Satoru retracts this around others. They meet frequently outside school. Satoru often expresses annoyance toward Gin, comparing him to a shibu-inu dog and nicknaming him "Shibaken." This association was so strong Satoru once punched a window after envisioning Gin upon seeing a shibu-inu. Gin, alongside Kippei, actively facilitates reconciliation between the twins. Satoru's friendship with Kippei, while less close than with Gin, involves regular social interaction, and Kippei similarly supports efforts to mend the twins' relationship.
Satoru's preferences include tea as his favorite food and a fondness for silver jewelry. He has expressed interest in cats, offering to show his own to Ryo Saotome. A characteristic quote reflecting his exasperation is, "What the heck was that all about."
