TV-Series
Description
Shinemon Nitta, also known as Shin Nitta, manages the Card Capital card shop chain. He is the uncle and legal guardian of Misaki Tokura, having assumed responsibility for her after her parents died in a car accident roughly ten years before the main series. At the time of the accident, Shinemon was a student wearing the uniform of Hitsue High School, a detail that later created narrative inconsistencies with his stated age of 38 during the original series.

Following the tragedy, he took over management of the original Card Capital location, a shop Misaki would eventually inherit. Shinemon mentored early protagonists like Aichi Sendou in the basics of the Vanguard card game. He organized the shop tournament leading to the formation of Team Q4, serving as their coach and providing logistical, moral, and strategic support during regional and national tournaments like the VF Circuit, including arranging training camps with teams such as Caesar.

His involvement continued during the Link Joker crisis, where he remained unaffected by the interdimensional threat, offering safe haven and transportation to afflicted fighters. Later, as manager of Card Capital 2 in the subsequent generation, he mentored Chrono Shindou. Shinemon revealed his past as a seasoned cardfighter and member of Team Nippon alongside Mark Whiting and Rive Shindou (Chrono's father). He uses a Murakumo deck, employing it in a pivotal match against Chrono to help the boy decide his path regarding Vanguard after learning of its connection to Rive's disappearance.

Approximately ten years before the original series, during his third year at Hitsue High (depicted in the Shinemon Arc prequel), Shinemon was an active cardfighter. This era showcased his younger days with teammates Mark Whiting (a fellow third-year) and Rive Shindou (his teacher), alongside interactions with junior high-aged Mikuru Shindou (Rive's sister) and Tatsuya Tachibana.

Personality-wise, Shinemon is cheerful, approachable, and deeply invested in both the game and the well-being of others. He strategically uses Vanguard to help individuals process trauma, such as reintroducing Misaki to the game to aid her grief. He often withholds sensitive information, like details of Rive Shindou's disappearance, to encourage independent decision-making. He shows subtle romantic interest in Mikuru Shindou, offering to care for her if anything happened to Chrono.
