Description
Yosuke Endo is a detective baffled by unusual murders until the Science Special Search Party (SSSP), led by Dan Moroboshi, takes over his case. This dismissal fuels his determination to uncover the SSSP's secrets. Endo endured childhood trauma, losing his parents in a monster attack and growing up in an orphanage. Fifteen years earlier, he befriended an alien couple awaiting their daughter's birth, accepting their true nature without prejudice. Tragically, they were murdered by a xenophobic organization within the police. Endo discovered their bodies and chose to raise their surviving daughter, Rena Endo, as his own. To protect her and maintain his police position, he accepted a promotion orchestrated by his superior, a member of the anti-alien group.
While driving with his partner Kurata, Endo witnessed a traffic accident and attempted a rescue. Shinjiro Hayata intervened in an Ultraman Suit, saving the driver. Spotting the SSSP crest on the suit, Endo became fixated on uncovering the organization's secrets, declaring Shinjiro "not an Ultraman" due to his profound respect for the original Ultraman who saved him as a child.
Investigating a murder scene, Endo and Kurata learned the victim was a fan of idol Rena Sayama. They pursued a suspicious figure who was hit by a car; Endo confirmed the figure was an alien, solidifying his belief in extraterrestrial presence and motivating independent investigations.
Endo laid a trap for suspected serial killer Alien Igaru in an abandoned apartment. Instead, Alien Bris attacked, its exoskeleton rendering their firearms useless. Moroboshi intervened, defeating the alien and saving them. Later, Bemular informed Endo that Rena was in danger. Endo and Kurata apprehended Alien Igaru backstage at Rena's concert, but the alien escaped after warning that another entity targeted Rena.
Endo rushed to protect Rena during a battle involving Adad, Bemular, Shinjiro, and Moroboshi. Bemular blocked Shinjiro's punch aimed at the alien targeting Rena, complicating Endo's understanding. He later confronted Bemular on an airport rooftop, where Bemular revealed he knew Rena was not Earth-born and gave her a protective watch-like device.
A mysterious man, Shiro Maki, provided Endo with information on future alien targets but disturbed him by warning him to watch over Rena. Endo later learned Maki was part of the organization that killed Rena's birth parents. Now repentant, Maki claimed to have poisoned the responsible police chief. This revelation caused Rena immense guilt over her violent impulses. Endo introduced Maki to Rena to explain her origins, leading to an emotional reconciliation between Endo and Rena.
Endo supported Rena's decision to join the SSSP, reasoning it was safer than her acting independently. He later participated in SSSP strategy sessions with Maki and Mephisto to counter threats like the Zetton Core and Damned's global war declaration. His proposal to establish a dedicated alien investigation unit within the police force marked the logical progression of his arc.
