Description
Lieselotte Sherlock, operating under the alias Rize = Charlotte = Laplace, is the older twin sister of Selina Sherlock and a former Demon Lord Candidate. Recognized as a genius alongside her sister in their European hometown, she displayed extraordinary intellectual gifts from a young age, solving advanced mathematical problems and demonstrating significant talent in magic and calculation. This prowess earned both sisters an invitation to the Royal Biblia Academy from Master Biblia.
Confident, seductive, and playfully ambitious, Lieselotte exhibits a straightforward dedication to her research, though she often prefers shortcuts and deceptive methods to achieve her aims, even at the expense of friends and family—exemplified by her theft of Selina’s magic, which endangered her sister’s life. Despite such actions, she holds deep care for her sister and companions. After her defeat by and subsequent rescue from Arata Kasuga, she becomes a loyal ally and friend, offering kindness and support while retaining her characteristically mischievous and teasing demeanor. Her Thema, Stagna, from the Acedia (Sloth) archive, mirrors her enterprising nature and refusal to remain stagnant.
Lieselotte possesses long blonde hair tied in twin tails, purple eyes, and a developed figure with measurements of B85 W56 H84, standing 155 cm tall. Her typical Magus Mode attire consists of a choker, opera gloves, a cape-like gown covering her chest, shorts, stockings, and thigh-high boots. She often carries a black tablet believed to contain her research and serve as her grimoire. In her Belphegor Form, acquired during events at Dante’s Gate, her costume becomes more revealing and is accessorized with horns and a tattoo below her navel.
Her past includes a tragic vampire attack in her hometown orchestrated by Melione’s servants seeking the grimoire Gleipnir. During this assault, Lieselotte spontaneously accessed Logos Art magic to defend herself, becoming a wizard and one of the Trinity Seven. At the Royal Biblia Academy, she joined Grimoire Security as the Second Seat, though her primary motive was to study the Breakdown Phenomenon and access the forbidden Eternal Library. An experiment there led to her disappearance and acquisition of the Magic King’s Element, transforming her into a Demon Lord Candidate and granting her a vision of Arata as Astral Trinity destroying the world.
She reemerged as an antagonist, having vanished prior to Arata’s enrollment, and returned as an evil mage. She stole Arata’s magic by exploiting his desire to find Hijiri but was ultimately defeated by him. After he vowed to save her, she became trapped in her own time dimension due to employing her Last Crest. She later returned by using her sister’s body during an attack by Iscariot and aided in defeating Hijiri. During the Sky Library mission, she helped Arata control the Black Imperial Sword Judecca and prevent his transformation into Astral Trinity, resulting in her full return to the real world.
In the spin-off "Liese Chronicle," Master Liber dispatches her to a parallel world (β World) to avert its ruin and prevent consequent destruction in her own world. There, she encounters variations such as Anastasia L occupying Lilith’s position as Trinity Seven of Luxuria.
Her magic, Logos Art, associated with the Acedia archive, enables her to manipulate time and steal magic from others, which she employs strategically in combat by analyzing opponents’ weaknesses.
