Description
Tamade Chiyu, performing as CHU², leads, produces, and DJs for RAISE A SUILEN. At 14, she skips grades to become a third-year at Celosia International School due to academic excellence. Her wealthy family includes world-renowned violinist mother Miu Tamade, who imposed rigorous musical expectations. Early training in piano and violin left Chiyu feeling inadequate, fostering envy toward those mastering instruments she couldn’t. This drove her to form "the ultimate band" to prove her talent beyond her family's shadow.
Chiyu displays professional confidence, stubbornness, and outward arrogance, self-labeling a "kind, generous producer" while demanding perfection. Initially controlling, she dictated schedules and forbade interactions with rivals Roselia and Poppin'Party. Her international schooling led to frequent English phrases in speech. Despite assertiveness, emotional outbursts often plunged her into regretful withdrawal. After Roselia’s Yukina Minato rejected her production offer, Chiyu fixated on defeating her, later targeting Poppin'Party.
As an antagonist, she manipulated members: blackmailing Tae Hanazono into joining by exploiting Tae’s past with Rei Wakana (LAYER), causing Tae to miss Poppin'Party’s concert. Post-Tae’s exit, Chiyu recruited Rokka Asahi (LOCK) but dismissed her until witnessing her potential. Following RAISE A SUILEN’s temporary win over Roselia in the Girls’ Band Challenge, Chiyu tightened authoritarian control after subsequent ranking drops. This culminated in her calling keyboardist Reona Nyubara (PAREO) "useless," dissolving the band.
Isolation sparked Chiyu’s development. Hiding guilt-ridden in her penthouse closet, she reflected until Rei intervened, urging collaboration. Chiyu traveled with Rei to reconcile with Reona, offering a heartfelt apology that reunited them. This redemption revealed her envy of bandmates’ talents and newfound respect. She later reconciled with Roselia and Poppin'Party, trading rivalry for mutual admiration while keeping her competitive edge.
Standing 140 cm, Chiyu has salmon-pink hair, an ahoge, and sky-blue eyes. Her typical Celosia uniform—dark blue blazer, plaid skirt, striped tie, and cat-eared headphones—contrasts her 6th-anniversary casual turquoise-white layers and black shorts. She avoids baths and endures extreme temperatures poorly. "CHU²" stylizes katakana "チユ" with a small "ユ," while her name "Chiyu" (知由) merges "know/understand" and "cause/reason"; "Tamade" (珠手) means "jewel hand."
Trivia notes her shared birthday (December 7) with RAISE A SUILEN’s third live event, salad aversion, and jerky-in-goblets preference. Her penthouse doubled as band practice space. Post-redemption, she continued producing with RAISE A SUILEN, prioritizing collective growth over dominance.
