Description
Lelouch Lamperouge, originally Lelouch vi Britannia, is the exiled Eleventh Prince of the Holy Britannian Empire. Born December 5, 1999, he was sent to Japan with his sister Nunnally after their mother Marianne vi Britannia's assassination left Nunnally blind and crippled. Following Britannia's conquest of Japan, he adopted the alias Lelouch Lamperouge.

During exile, he gained the power of Geass from the immortal C.C., compelling absolute obedience through eye contact. Using this ability, he became the masked revolutionary "Zero," founding the Black Knights to overthrow Britannia and create a gentler world for Nunnally. His brilliant leadership employed ruthless tactics, including sacrificing civilians and allies, seen during the Battle of Narita and the collapse of Tokyo settlements.

His motivations shifted from personal vengeance and protecting Nunnally to broader global change after Nunnally became Viceroy of Area 11 and her peaceful methods clashed with his own. He recognized his rebellion served all oppressed people. Key relationships defined his path: devotion to Nunnally often complicated his plans; his friendship with Suzaku Kururugi deteriorated into enmity over conflicting ideologies before reconciling; his alliance with C.C. evolved from mutual use into genuine trust.

As Emperor of Britannia, he enacted the "Zero Requiem," uniting the world by focusing global hatred upon himself. He orchestrated his assassination by Suzaku, who then assumed the Zero identity as a symbol of hope. Lelouch died in 2018, accepting death as atonement.

In the alternate timeline of *Lelouch of the Re;surrection* (following the *Recap Films*), Lelouch is resurrected by C.C. She retrieved his body and used a remnant of Charles zi Britannia's Code, granting him "Incomplete Immortality" that prevents aging but not full invulnerability. A Geass mark appears on his chest below the neck. His personality displays increased gentleness and tolerance, noted by allies like Kallen, though his core intellect and strategic brilliance remain intact.

Resurrected, Lelouch confronts the kingdom of Zilkhstan and its queen, Shamna, who possesses a Geass manipulating time perception. His primary objective becomes protecting Nunnally from Shamna's forces, necessitating new alliances and battles. After defeating Shamna and rescuing Nunnally, he relinquishes political power. Adopting the name "L.L.," he departs with C.C. as traveling companions, symbolizing a departure from his past life of conflict and sacrifice, reflecting their enduring bond and a commitment to a quieter existence.
