Thierry Bourdon is a French actor, born on August 4, 1953. He is primarily known for his extensive work in dubbing, where he became a prominent voice in French animation and television series during the 1980s and 1990s.

Before becoming an actor, Bourdon was a trained musician. He played the harpsichord and even won a prize at a conservatory. His performance career began in a children's choir, where he recorded several albums, and later at a performing arts school. It was at the age of seventeen that he was noticed and offered his first dubbing role, which would become the start of his long and prolific career in voice acting.

His first significant role in animation was voicing the character Terry Grandchester in the beloved series Candy. This marked the beginning of a career that would see him become the French voice for a vast array of iconic characters in both anime and American television series. While he continued to act on stage, including in plays like The Marriage of Figaro, the high demand for his voice work eventually led him to focus primarily on dubbing.

Bourdon's filmography is exceptionally diverse. In anime, he is well-known for voicing complex and leading characters such as Lelouch Lamperouge in Code Geass and its sequel film Lelouch of the Re;surrection, Jellal in Fairy Tail, and Kira Yamato in Mobile Suit Gundam SEED and Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny. He also lent his voice to a wide range of other notable roles, including Kaku in One Piece, C-17 in Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball Super, Serge Takiki and Danny Mitamura in Attacker You! (Jeanne et Serge), and Tadashi Daiba in Space Pirate Captain Herlock The Endless Odyssey.

In addition to these, his extensive body of work includes roles in numerous other series and films, such as Prince Vif Argent in One-Million Year Trip: Bander Book, Ken in Fumoon, the dual roles of Kim and Théo Brendel across various Touch films and series, Edward in Hello! Lady Lin, Antoine in Lady Lady!!, Sonny in The Kabocha Wine, Oscar in Tongari Bōshi no Memoru, D'Artagnan in Anime Sanjushi, Joe in the Gatchaman movie, Al in Dominion Tank Police, Billy, Sam, and Steve in Kickers, Tom Tom in Swiss Family Robinson, Nagumo in Urotsukidōji: Legend of the Overfiend, and Aladdin in Aladdin and the Wonderful Lamp.

Throughout his career, Bourdon has expressed a fondness for certain roles, citing the American series Diff'rent Strokes (Arnold et Willy) and the anime Mes tendres années as particularly memorable experiences. He has also spoken highly of his work dubbing films like Wargames, Sophie's Choice, and especially Birdy, a role for which he later agreed to re-record his voice for a new dub. He has mentioned that he has no strong preference between dubbing live-action and animation, valuing the camaraderie among the voice actors above all, though he has a particular appreciation for roles that involve singing.
