Description
Kira Yamato is a central figure in the conflict of the Cosmic Era, a Coordinator whose actions and ideology place him at the heart of the Second Alliance-PLANT War. Introduced as a civilian engineer, his life during the events of the original conflict irrevocably changed him, and by the time of Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Destiny, he has matured into a more composed and resolute individual. He begins the sequel living a quiet, peaceful life at Reverend Malchio's orphanage in the Marshall Islands alongside Lacus Clyne, attempting to distance himself from the horrors of war. However, this peace is shattered by the outbreak of a new conflict and a direct assassination attempt on Lacus, forcing him to return to the battlefield in his ZGMF-X10A Freedom Gundam.
Personality-wise, the Kira of Destiny is significantly calmer and more philosophical than the angsty, emotionally tormented teenager he was two years prior. While still possessing a deeply kind and compassionate nature, he has internalized the lessons of the past war, leading to a stoic and principled demeanor.
