Description
Edward Philip Brighton is the younger son of the noble Brighton family and brother to Arthur Drake Brighton. As an aristocrat attending Winston Churchill Boarding Academy, he excels in equestrian activities, frequently competing alongside his brother.

His background establishes a lifelong connection with Lynn Russell, beginning as childhood friends. His protective nature towards her evolved into romantic affection. While the original manga depicts his initial feelings as unrequited before gradually becoming mutual during their adolescence, the anime adaptation accelerates this progression, showing earlier mutual confessions.

Edward repeatedly intervenes in Lynn's challenges, most notably when she considers returning to Japan. In a significant act, he rides his brother's horse Alessandra—despite the horse typically refusing other riders—to reach Lynn and persuade her to stay in England. This demonstrates his determination and Alessandra's acceptance of his bond with Lynn.

Throughout the series, Edward navigates interpersonal conflicts arising from his affections. Vivian Spencer develops feelings for him, leading to resentment toward Lynn as Edward's attention focuses on her. Edward remains consistently supportive of Lynn during her equestrian pursuits and challenges at Saint Patrick Academy.

His character arc culminates in marriage to Lynn as adults, resulting in the birth of twins. This outcome occurs in both manga and anime continuities, fulfilling his childhood dedication to her.
