Veronica Pivetti

Description
Veronica Pivetti is an Italian actress and voice actress, born in Milan on 19 February 1965, who has built a prolific career spanning several decades, with a significant body of work in the dubbing of anime and animated series. Coming from a family of artists, she is the daughter of voice actress Grazia Gabrielli and stage director Paolo Pivetti, and she began her voice acting career at a very young age, starting at either six or eight years old. Her early work in the 1980s and 1990s was extensive, with many of her voice roles appearing in popular anime series broadcast on Italian television, particularly within programs like Italia 1's Bim bum bam.

Pivetti's voice is featured in a wide array of anime from that era. Among her most recognized roles are Dan in Honō no Tōkyūji Dodge Danpei, Jean in Anime Sanjushi, and Edward in both Lady Lady!! and Hello! Lady Lin, known in Italian as Hello! Spank. She also provided voices for Lollo in Thumbelina: A Magical Story, Gianni (the character John) in Peter Pan & Wendy, and the dual role of Willy and Kabu in the 1989 series Mahōtsukai Sally. Other notable credits include Sig.ra Nakazato in the OAV Slow Step, and she is also known for having voiced Crilin in the early episodes of Dragon Ball and Queen Beryl in the television dub of Sailor Moon. Her work in the 1980s also included performing the theme song for the anime Planet Robot Danguard Ace, which was released as a single.

Beyond her extensive work in television anime, Pivetti's voice acting portfolio includes roles in animated films. She voiced Yuki Mori in the Italian dubbing of Farewell to Space Battleship Yamato and took on the role of Megara in the Italian version of Disney's Hercules in 1997, a high-profile dubbing project. Her involvement in the dubbing industry also extended to direction, as she served as the dubbing director for the Italian versions of the anime series Hime-chan's Ribbon and Miracle Girls.

While Pivetti became a well-known face to the Italian public through her subsequent work as a film and television actress, notably in comedies directed by Carlo Verdone and long-running TV series like Commesse, Il maresciallo Rocca, and Provaci ancora prof!, her foundational work in voice acting for anime remains a significant and prolific part of her career. Her early specialization in this field established her as one of the prominent voices of Japanese animation for Italian audiences during the 1980s and 1990s.
