Description
Misha Kruezhev is a name used during a specific incident involving a character from the Russian Orthodox Church within the world of Academy City. Her true identity is that of Sasha Kreutzev, an operative of a special division known as Annihilatus, which is tasked with hunting down spirits and entities that are not supposed to exist in the natural order. She is characterized by her distinctive appearance, which includes very long blonde hair, a red hood and cape, and an outfit adorned with numerous leather belts and metal braces that hold an array of unconventional weaponry. This attire was imposed upon her by her female superior as a personal hobby.
Her first and most prominent appearance in the story occurs during the Angel Fall arc, though this appearance is not her true self. During this arc, the Archangel Gabriel falls to earth and takes possession of Sasha's body, referring to itself as Misha Kruezhev. In this possessed state, Gabriel uses her form to investigate the cause of the Angel Fall phenomenon and to locate the culprit responsible for disrupting the divine order. While under the archangel's control, she demonstrates powers befitting an angel, wielding water and ice-based attacks that are described as divine punishment, though her movements during this time are noted to be fairly slow. Her combat prowess as Misha is comparable to that of an archangel, with each spell carrying immense destructive potential.
After the Angel Fall incident is resolved and Gabriel departs, Sasha Kreutzev returns as the host body. She is portrayed as an avid drinker who does not mind consuming brandy during work hours, showing a somewhat relaxed and unbothered attitude toward her duties. She continues to serve the Annihilatus, and later appearances in the series show her beginning to experience lingering effects from having housed the immense power of an archangel within her body for an extended period. Her role in the story is that of a supporting figure affiliated with the Russian Church's supernatural enforcement wing, and her key relationship is with her superior, Vassilisa, who is responsible for her unusual dress code. Her development is marked by the physical and spiritual aftermath of the possession, as she grapples with the consequences of being a vessel for a divine entity.
