Description
Gao Granner Saber embodies the soul of a saber-toothed tiger, an extinct species resurrected against its will by humans and imprisoned within a mechanical form. This unnatural rebirth fuels profound resentment toward humanity, whom he views as enemies for violating his very existence. His default appearance is a black car adorned with golden decorations and silver trim resembling claws, featuring the distinct Saber Fangs bumper. A unique emergency stop button exists on his body, absent in other Gao Granners.
He bonds solely with Kakeru Kumaneko, accepting him as his pilot partner while rejecting all others. Initially refusing the Earth Energy provided by humans, Saber weakens critically without fuel. Dark Spinner exploits this vulnerability, offering Dark Energy in exchange for Saber's assistance against Earth Granner. He battles foes like Earth Granner Leo Cheetah and Eagle Shark, though energy depletion frequently forces his retreat.
Kakeru obtains the Drift Thunder Tomica, a Type Change Tomica crafted specifically for Saber. Intrigued by the prospect of defeating humans using their own creation, Saber utilizes it during a battle augmented by Dark Spinner's energy-draining Mystery Circle. This grants immense power but triggers violent rampages under Dark Energy's influence, causing Saber to lose control and later claim no memory of his actions. Fearing he will harm Kakeru, he urges his partner to abandon him and deliberately drives toward a lava pit to end his existence, believing he has no place in the modern world. Kakeru intervenes, pleading that a future without Saber is meaningless, prompting Saber to relent and continue their partnership.
Saber combines with Gao Granner Black Panther and Gao Granner Crow to form Earth Granner Saber Panther, a robot featuring saber-tooth tiger motifs. In this combined form, Gao Granner Crow reconfigures into weapons like the Cross Scissor blade, Cross Boomerang, or a jetpack, while the Saber Fangs mount on the lower back. Using the Drift Thunder Tomica transforms him into Earth Granner Saber Panther Drift Thunder, granting lightning abilities. The Grip Blizzard Tomica enables transformation into Earth Granner Saber Panther Grip Blizzard. When combined, the letters S and P appear on his head flanking an X, symbolizing Kakeru.
