Description
Ryūbi Gentoku, also known as Tōka, is the young queen of the Shoku faction, born into a distinguished family. She inherited the ancestral sword Chuuzan Seiou, a symbol of her lineage, but an impostor stole it while assuming her identity, causing her public disgrace. To restore her honor, she journeyed to reclaim the sword, encountering Kan'u Unchō and Chōhi Yokutoku along the way. After surviving bandit attacks, including near-assaults, she joined their group for protection.

Her personality blends altruism and pacifism; she prioritizes compassion and diplomacy, believing in resolving conflicts through reason. Despite her royal status, she exhibits naivety, indecisiveness, and clumsiness in daily affairs. She avoids paperwork and often requires reminders from subordinates like Kan'u about her duties. Yet, she demonstrates unexpected insight and charisma, drawing people through her benevolence and dedication to alleviating suffering caused by civil unrest. Her leadership focuses on protecting allies and civilians, sometimes leading to stubbornness in avoiding sacrifices during wartime decisions.

During her quest, the stolen sword changed hands multiple times. It passed from the impostor to Kōsonsan (an old classmate of Ryūbi's), then to Enshō, who traded it to Enjutsu for a supposedly "invisible robe." Ryūbi recovered it after Shokatsuryō Koumei deceived Enjutsu. Ultimately, she sacrificed the sword by using it as a lightning rod to destroy a boulder threatening a village, enabling a flood to repel bandits. Kan'u helped her recognize this act as heroic selflessness, leading her to embrace a new path. She proposed a sisterhood vow with Kan'u and Chōhi, initially intending to become Kan'u's younger sister. Chōhi objected due to her existing bond as Kan'u's sworn sister, so Ryūbi instead became the eldest sister in their trio. Villagers later gifted her a new sword, reputedly forged from the transformed remnants of her original heirloom.

Her development involved accepting rulership responsibilities while maintaining pacifist ideals. She reluctantly engaged in warfare when her faction faced invasion, notably attacking the Gi faction after Sousou permitted her forces passage but warned of inevitable conflict. Ryūbi's principle of overcoming enemies through compassion clashed with Sousou's aggression, nearly leading to Gi's defeat before reinforcements arrived, highlighting her struggle between her aversion to violence and leadership realities.

In expanded media, Ryūbi appears in spin-offs like *Twinkle Queen* and browser-based strategy titles, reflecting her role as a faction leader. She features in idol-themed content, performing with the group "Tōen no San Shimai." Her background includes talents like weaving straw mats, referencing Liu Bei's historical roots, and recurring comedic elements such as her mother throwing her into a river for losing the heirloom sword.
