Description
Ushigome Rimi is a third-year student at Hanasakigawa Girls' High School, recognized for her shy and reserved nature. Originally from the Kansai region before relocating to Tokyo, she occasionally slips into Kansai dialect when flustered, causing her embarrassment. Her pink ESP Viper bass guitar belonged to her older sister Yuri, lead vocalist of Glitter*Green, whose childhood performances inspired Rimi to play.
During her entrance ceremony, Kasumi Toyama's vibrant self-introduction captivated Rimi, though her timidity prevented interaction. When Kasumi invited her to form a band, Rimi declined due to paralyzing stage fright. This changed at Live House SPACE when Kasumi improvised a performance to cover for Glitter*Green's delay. Motivated by Kasumi's resolve, Rimi conquered her fear to join the set, formally becoming Poppin'Party's third member and bassist.
Rimi admires her sister Yuri intensely, often comparing herself to others while yearning to grow more assertive, occasionally revealing quiet determination beneath her reticence. Her interests encompass horror media—ghosts, zombies, and supernatural themes—alongside video games and reading, though she avoids haunted houses. She passionately favors Yamabuki Bakery's chocolate cornets; rejecting one alarms her bandmates. She detests mint-chocolate flavors.
Physically, Rimi stands 150 cm tall—Poppin'Party's shortest member, a trait she fixates on—with short black hair looped at the sides, straight bangs, and brown-red downturned eyes. Her wardrobe evolves: early outfits feature pink floral dresses with ballet shoes, later replaced by pink sweaters over white blouses, floral skirts, frilled socks, and Mary Jane shoes.
She composes songs for Poppin'Party and runs a pastry-review blog proposed by friend Himari. She uniquely addresses all band members with "-chan" honorifics. Beyond the band, she bonds with Misaki and Himari over shared admiration for Kaoru, attending cram school together. In the "Girl's Blossom Project" spin-off, she appears as Himari's classmate, regularly observing Kaoru's rehearsals.
The original "BanG_Dream! Star Beat" manga depicts an alternate Rimi: a cheeky self-proclaimed ninja selling rice at school, calling Kasumi "master," and refusing Poppin'Party until they become "Japan's greatest band." This version favors onigiri over chocolate cornets.
Her family owns a chocolate fountain; she once co-wrote a song about chocolate cornets with Yuri. She celebrates her birthday on March 23.
