Rimi Nishimoto

Description
Rimi Nishimoto is a Japanese voice actress and musician affiliated with the talent agency HiBiKi. She was born on October 25, 1994, in Hyogo Prefecture, Japan. Her interest in voice acting began in elementary school after watching the anime Mirmo de Pon!. She started playing piano at the age of three and later learned guitar at 14, also playing euphonium and saxophone in her school's band clubs.

Nishimoto's path to a voice acting career began with an audition in April 2013 for a spot in the Bushiroad franchise Tantei Opera Milky Holmes. Although she did not win the role, her performance singing while playing guitar left a strong impression on Bushiroad president Takaaki Kidani. When the BanG Dream! project was being planned, he specifically sought her out to participate as a bassist, despite bass being the instrument she had the least experience with at the time. She debuted as a voice actress in 2016 with a role in Watashitachi, Luck Logic-bu!.

Nishimoto is most recognized for her role as Rimi Ushigome in the BanG Dream! multimedia franchise. She is a core member of the franchise's real-life band Poppin'Party, playing bass guitar and providing vocals, which involves performing at live concerts in addition to voicing the character in anime and games. Her portrayal of the shy, chocolate-loving bassist draws inspiration from her own personality. In 2017, she released a character image song titled Chocolate no Teion Recipe, which peaked at 20th on the Oricon Weekly Singles Chart. Her extensive work in the franchise includes all seasons of the BanG Dream! anime, the film series BanG Dream! FILM LIVE and BanG Dream! Poppin' Dream!, and the various installments of the Girls Band Party! Pico short-form series.

Beyond BanG Dream!, Nishimoto has taken on a variety of other notable roles. These include Haru Mikado in Future Card Buddyfight Ace, Fumi Futagawa in Assault Lily Bouquet and its spin-off Assault Lily Fruits, Chiharu Wakamiya in Rebirth, and Lulune in the 2021 anime The Fruit of Evolution: Before I Knew It, My Life Had It Made. She also voiced the character KMS Weser in the popular game Azur Lane.

Nishimoto has also been active in stage productions, with her first lead role in a 2018 play. In addition to her performance skills, she holds certifications in Microsoft Office and has a hobby of video editing, once running a personal YouTube channel. In November 2023, her agency announced that she had been diagnosed with Graves' disease, leading to a reduction in some of her physically demanding activities.
