Description
Chiyu Tamade, performing as CHU², is a 14-year-old prodigy in her third year at Celosia Girls’ Academy, an international school where she advanced early due to academic prowess. Born to a musical dynasty, her mother Miu Tamade—a globally celebrated violinist—imposed relentless expectations, fueling Chiyu’s inferiority complex despite childhood training in piano and violin. Persistent mediocrity in competitions deepened her humiliation, driving her obsession to validate herself through music.

As founder, producer, and DJ of RAISE A SUILEN (RAS), Chiyu sought to build “the ultimate band” for acclaim. Her ambitions turned vengeful when Roselia’s Yukina Minato rejected her production offer, spurring her to target Roselia and Poppin’Party as rivals. She recruited members through calculated manipulation, blackmailing Tae Hanazono and pressuring Rokka Asahi via auditions, treating her band as mere instruments for dominance. Her authoritarian control—enforcing strict no-contact rules with rivals and micromanaging every detail—fractured trust within RAS.

Chiyu’s rigid leadership shattered after RAS briefly surpassed Roselia in a competition, only to plummet later. The defeat triggered a meltdown where she viciously blamed her bandmates, causing them to quit. Alone and guilt-ridden, she withdrew into introspection, eventually apologizing sincerely to Reona Nyubara (PAREO) and reconciling with Masuki Sato (MASKING), Rei Wakana (LAYER), and Rokka. This redemption marked her acceptance of envy toward their talents and a pledge to nurture authentic camaraderie in RAS.

Confident yet insecure, Chiyu cloaks self-doubt behind arrogance and explosive professionalism. Prone to emotional outbursts followed by remorse, she fluently weaves English into her speech and refers to herself with the katakana “ワタシ.” Her music obsession eclipses basic needs, often skipping meals and sleep while composing. Despite a luxurious penthouse life, she reveals fragility in defeat or when confronting her past.

Post-redemption, Chiyu retains her competitive edge but embraces collaboration, engaging in playful rivalries like attempting to out-eat Roselia. Family dynamics, explored in stories such as "Coruscate -DNA-," delve into her strained ties with her mother and her ongoing journey toward self-worth beyond external validation.
