Description
Reona Nyubara, stage name PAREO, is a third-year junior high student at Kamogawa Chuuou Middle School and keyboardist for RAISE A SUILEN. Her family’s dried goods business shaped an upbringing marked by strict academic and athletic expectations, compelling her to hide her love for cute aesthetics and idol culture to uphold her image as a popular honor student. This self-suppression bred isolation until discovering Pastel*Palettes, whose music ignited her courage to anonymously share keyboard covers online.

Chiyu Tamade (CHU²), RAISE A SUILEN’s leader, identified her talent through these videos and recruited her after demanding she abandon perfectionism for authenticity. Embracing the PAREO persona, Reona grew fiercely loyal to CHU², crediting her with ending her emotional solitude and addressing her with reverent titles like "CHU²-sama" or "Goshujinsama." Her devotion surfaces through proactive support—preparing snacks, handling logistical tasks, vocal declarations of love, and affectionate gestures like embraces.

Reona balances dual identities: as PAREO, she exudes bubbly energy, speaks in third person, and dons vibrant wigs or dyed hair with extravagant stage wear; as her school self, she maintains a polite, studious façade as class president and handicraft club vice president. She commutes daily from Chiba to Tokyo for band commitments, embodying her dedication to both worlds.

Pastel*Palettes’ influence permeates her style—dyeing her hair in their hues, designing RAISE A SUILEN’s costumes—and her interactions with the group evolved from starstruck admiration to collaborative friendships, notably aiding member Maya Yamato. Within her band, she acts as an emotional mediator, tempering friction caused by CHU²’s demanding leadership through empathetic insight.

Key growth arcs include confronting self-doubt to perform authentically and navigating clashes with CHU², such as a rift from harsh critiques that later deepened their mutual reliance post-reconciliation. Her journey traces a shift from stifling conformity to embracing self-expression through music and band camaraderie.

Notable traits include distaste for coriander and raw onions, a cabbage preference, hobbies in idol fandom and costume design, and distinct speech patterns—polite as PAREO versus casual as Reona—reinforcing her dual personas.
