Description
Jakurai Jinguji is a doctor and former member of the legendary rap group The Dirty Dawg. He now leads the Shinjuku Division team Matenro under the professional alias ill-DOC. His past includes working as a medic in overseas conflict zones during medical school, where he was also contracted as an assassin. This history fuels his drive for atonement through saving lives. He practices at Shinjuku Central Hospital, prioritizing affordable care for those in need, including patients with questionable backgrounds or limited finances. His primary personal goal is to awaken the comatose Yotsutsuji Kannabi and heal the world using both his medical expertise and rap abilities.

Physically, he stands as the tallest character in his universe, distinguished by long grey-purple hair featuring a lavender underside and blue eyes. His typical attire consists of a black turtleneck bearing the Matenro symbol, dark blue pants, and a white lab coat with blue lining. His Hypnosis Mic resembles a ribbon microphone merged with the Rod of Asclepius, complete with wing-like structures, a snake motif, and an IV drip component. His rap ability, "Medication," focuses on healing allies and restoring them to normalcy.

Personality-wise, he presents as calm, stoic, and intellectually rigorous, often speaking with excessive formality. Though fundamentally kind and guided by the humanist motto "The sole meaning of life is to serve humanity," he struggles with low empathy and social skills, sometimes appearing self-righteous or emotionally distant. Deep-seated guilt over his past drives self-sacrificing tendencies. A significant flaw is his severe alcohol intolerance; even a single sip triggers a violent, aggressive, and belligerent state with subsequent memory loss. Over time, he learns to gradually open up emotionally but remains reserved.

His relationships are complex. He views his Matenro teammates, Hifumi Izanami and Doppo Kannonzaka, initially as patients he cannot abandon, eventually forming a brotherly bond. He frequently invites Hifumi on fishing trips, one of his few hobbies alongside meditation. His most contentious relationship is with Shibuya Division's Ramuda Amemura, marked by mutual animosity and unresolved history. Jakurai warns others of Ramuda's "inhumanity" and possible Chuo Ward government connections, though details of their past conflicts remain undisclosed. He also maintains awareness of the ongoing feud between former Dirty Dawg members Ichiro Yamada and Samatoki Aohitsugi but refrains from intervening.

Across official media, his development emphasizes his role as a stabilizing force in Shinjuku, utilizing rap battles to protect his division and address societal issues. His narrative consistently intertwines his medical mission with his rap career, reflecting his dual identity as healer and battler. Mysteries surrounding his past actions, his ties to Ramuda, and his efforts to awaken Yotsutsuji remain central to his ongoing story.
