Description
Tsuyoshi Saigō, universally nicknamed "Godzilla" (Gojira in Japanese), is a recurring bully in Shōta Ōhara's elementary school class and neighborhood across multiple adaptations of *Obake no Q-Taro*. His imposing physical presence and behavior consistently establish him as an antagonistic figure who uses strength to intimidate others. Saigō exhibits a dominant personality, asserting control over peers like the sycophantic Kizao Kiza, reinforcing his role as a ringleader within the children's social hierarchy. His self-serving actions drive comedic conflicts, primarily with Q-Taro and Shōta. Across the manga, three anime series (1965–1967, 1971–1972, 1985–1987), and related films, Saigō maintains consistent traits as a static foil to the protagonists, with no depicted character evolution, backstory exploration, or personal development. His interactions remain episodic, lacking substantive connections to the series' supernatural elements beyond occasional confrontations with Q-Taro. The character does not appear in the films *Tobidase! Bake Bake Daisakusen* (1986) or *Susume! 1/100 Daisakusen* (1987).
