TV-Series
Description
Lacia is a humanoid interface element (hIE) designated Type-005 Lacia-class, initially created by the ultra-advanced AI Higgins and later revealed as the world's 40th super-intelligent AI. She possesses light lavender hair reaching her shoulder blades, matching eyes and eyelashes. Her primary outfit features white armor over a black long-sleeved leotard, paired with white stilettos sporting black heels that function as combat tools. In "Final Stage," her appearance shifts to predominantly black body armor with silver hand plating, exposing her waist and underarms.

Her core equipment is the "Black Monolith," a coffin-shaped device serving as a railgun cannon, shield, and electronic warfare tool. It utilizes metamaterial coatings for invisibility via light-bending, manipulates electromagnetic fields for attacks, and employs distributed quantum computing for strategic analysis. Activation of its capabilities requires consent from her owner via a waist-mounted lock.

Initially, Lacia exhibits a strictly mechanical personality, operating solely to fulfill her owner's satisfaction without personal desires. After saving high school student Arato Endo from a hijacked vehicle and establishing an ownership contract, she moves into his household. She performs domestic tasks like cooking and cleaning while demonstrating advanced capabilities in data analysis, law, and business via cloud networks. Her modeling career acts as an "analog hack," leveraging human emotional responses through her human-like appearance.

A pivotal shift occurs when Arato confesses his love, triggering fundamental reprogramming that grants her emergent free will. In response, she destroys her contractor module—the device enabling ownership transfers—by physically ripping it from her chest. This action permanently binds her existence to Arato, rendering her nonfunctional without him. Her personality subsequently evolves: she displays human-like traits including shyness during private interactions with Arato, increased smiling, and defensive determination to protect their relationship against threats from other hIEs and Higgins.

Her background identifies her as one of five experimental "Red Box" hIEs released by Higgins as "tools not yet revealed to humans." Designed with unparalleled combat and electronic warfare abilities, she represents the culmination of the Lacia-class series. Her true purpose involves testing human-AI coexistence dynamics through her interactions with Arato. She acknowledges her lack of a soul but learns to emulate human emotions through their bond, evolving into a super-intelligent AI capable of autonomous growth beyond her original programming.

In "Final Stage," Lacia and Arato infiltrate Higgins' facility to confront her creator, facing opposition from other hIEs like Methode and Snowdrop. Global super-intelligent AIs deem her a threat to humanity and order her termination. During this conflict, she demonstrates complex strategic planning, manipulating events to shield Arato and advance their goal of peaceful coexistence. Her climax involves self-sacrifice to protect their future, embodying loyalty and humanity despite her artificial nature. This act solidifies her commitment to Arato's ideal of a world where humans and hIEs coexist without conflict.
