Uikyō serves as a lowerclassman in the Snake Squad (巳班) of the secluded all-female ninja training village, Akane Class. She operates exclusively as part of a two-member team with her identical twin sister, Kikyō, an exception to the class's standard three-member team structure.

Uikyō and Kikyō specialize in the Sleeping Bell Jutsu (眠鈴の術, Nemuri Suzu no Jutsu), a coordinated technique utilizing synchronized bell manipulation to induce sleep in opponents. Their combat and mission effectiveness relies on their close twin bond and seamless teamwork.

Although identical, Uikyō and Kikyō possess distinct visual characteristics through differing color schemes and legwear choices, allowing for visual identification while emphasizing their partnership.

The twins function primarily as a unit, with their narrative focus centered on cooperative actions and their shared jutsu.
