Description
Takuya Gotou attended Kitauji High School one year above Kumiko Oumae, playing tuba in the school's concert band. He served as bass section leader during Kumiko's second year, guiding new members like the Suzuki twins, Mirei and Satsuki.
Standing 1.85 meters tall, he had short, spiked dark brown hair, brown eyes, and typically wore thick black glasses alongside the standard male Kitauji uniform. Quiet and reserved, he occasionally spoke with unintentional frankness that could offend, though without malice. He deeply loved playing the tuba, having started in his first year of middle school, and gave earnest advice to younger students, emphasizing "love and confidence."
Before high school, he participated in track and field but abandoned athletics to focus on music. At Kitauji, he felt notably intimidated by Asuka Tanaka. He later began dating fellow tuba player Riko Nagase after they developed a mutual interest; their relationship was supportive, and his mother expressed strong approval of Riko.
After graduating, he moved to Tokyo to attend vocational school, living alone in a small apartment while pursuing a career as a wind instrument repair technician. His mother viewed him as serious and earnest but not particularly sociable or physically striking. A personal challenge was his tone-deafness, which he actively worked to overcome.
