Enshou reigned as warrior prince of planet Burei, earning the moniker "The Gunpowder Prince" through mastery of warfare and explosives. He bore distinctive long orange or red hair and fish-tail-like eyebrows, typically clad in military-style uniforms befitting his leadership. His past was scarred by personal tragedy and moral corruption. Enshou desired his brother's wife and deliberately ignored his brother's battlefield distress call, ensuring the brother's death. He subsequently married the widow, though guilt over his actions drove him to constantly return to combat, avoiding home. The annihilation of Burei by Utsuro and the Tendoshuu killed his wife and unborn child, transforming his grief into a consuming quest for vengeance. Enshou co-founded the Altana Liberation Army with Shijaku and Ougai, rallying displaced Amanto to liberate the galaxy from Tendoshuu oppression. However, upon discovering the incapacitated Tendoshuu, he concealed this truth. He redirected the Army's mission towards perpetual warfare, ultimately targeting Earth for destruction as an outlet for his fury. His leadership grew increasingly authoritarian, marked by readiness to sacrifice subordinates and employ extreme measures like deploying the planet-destroying Kagutsuchi weapon. In combat, Enshou mastered twin beam sabers, wielding them separately or connecting them into a double-bladed staff. These weapons deflected bullets and fired energy projectiles. His skill enabled him to face multiple formidable opponents simultaneously, injuring Mutsu and Elizabeth while holding his own against Katsura Kotarou, Sakamoto Tatsuma, and later Takasugi Shinsuke. During the Silver Soul Arc, Enshou rejected peace talks and attempted to crash the Liberation Army's Ark Ship into Earth. Defeated by the combined efforts of Katsura, Sakamoto, and Takasugi, he lost both arms. In his final moments, he acknowledged his mistakes and sought to end the conflict peacefully. This change of heart provoked a mutinous subordinate to shoot him, causing his death. His relationships were defined by betrayal and isolation. He maintained a fraught alliance with Shijaku, who opposed his destructive goals, and harbored deep enmity toward Earth's defenders. Enshou's actions ultimately severed ties with his followers, leading directly to his demise at their hands.
