Description
General Rabbit recurs throughout the Duel Masters anime series as a member of Team Usagi alongside Pyonko-Hime and Kabamaro, serving as their second-in-command. His appearance is a slender figure in a blue suit, featuring two shoulder antennas and a hood with rabbit ears. His personality blends general cowardice and pathetic traits with flashes of seriousness and intimidation when focused on objectives.
Beyond dueling, he displays culinary talent working at Lulu's bar, skillfully preparing dishes and interpreting customer preferences even from confusing hints. Despite an appearance suggesting a human in his 20s or 30s, he and Team Usagi have hunted rare cards for over 30 years, hinting at non-human origins or longevity.
In the "Duel Masters (2017)" anime, General Rabbit first meets Joe Kirifuda near Joe's school, taking interest in his card collection. Team Usagi then infiltrates Lulu's bar posing as staff to steal Joe's cards, though their plan fails. Pressured by teammates, General Rabbit duels Joe. He destroys his own creatures to summon Georges Bataille. Joe's final shield reveals Bainaradoor, which Georges Bataille resists, leaving General Rabbit unable to block Jolly the Johnny's Master Double Breaker, resulting in defeat. The team continues working at the bar but faces further failures.
Later, General Rabbit prepares food for Joe and Kira during their visit and efficiently handles large Golden Week orders, correctly interpreting Boltz's ambiguous requests. After Boltz and Joe save the Bad Brand, Team Usagi travels to the Fire Civilization causing disturbances, prompting Joe to duel them again. General Rabbit uses Might Antility to grant trample to Vejita Hopper Panzer, declaring imminent victory. However, Joe's newly evolved Johnny destroys all of General Rabbit's creatures, securing another defeat. This loss results in Team Usagi being blasted away by Gambleman, Land Tank.
The manga adaptation presents a slight duel variation where he uses Mukade, Asura instead of Georges Bataille to destroy Joe's Baron Gelacho and Pali Nights. He is ultimately defeated when Mukade, Asura is removed by Bainaradoor.
General Rabbit's deck utilizes multiple civilizations: Darkness (Mafi Gang), Nature (Gransect), Water (Mutopia), and Light (Metallica). This multi-civilization approach reflects tactical flexibility during duels, yet his strategies consistently result in losses against Joe Kirifuda across both anime and manga portrayals.
