Higuruma is a junior kunoichi-in-training in the Akane Class and a member of the Rat Team, which is led by Tachiaoi and also includes Hagi. She possesses a notoriously optimistic disposition, frequently contrasting with Hagi’s more pessimistic outlook. The team’s dynamic typically involves Tachiaoi mediating between Higuruma’s and Hagi’s suggestions to reach a compromise. On one occasion, Tachiaoi attempted a more decisive approach by unilaterally creating a daily training plan focused on shuriken practice and fire jutsu. The plan failed, however, as the team lacked shuriken and was later caught in a heavy downpour without shelter or energy to build a fire after becoming exhausted from training. When Tachiaoi blamed herself, both Higuruma and Hagi apologized, acknowledging that their constant disagreements had pressured her into changing her leadership style. Higuruma personally vowed to think more carefully in the future.
