Description
Tokimaru, a descendant of the exiled Duke Kan (Sugawara-no-Michizane), carries the Hajimi clan's deep-seated grievance against the ruling powers. He and his sister Akira specifically blame Emperor Michinaga for their ancestor's unjust treatment and their lineage's suffering. This historical injustice fuels their vendetta.
To enact revenge against Michinaga, Tokimaru and Akira deliberately awaken an ancient Horror slumbering within a cherry blossom tree, exploiting its link to a significant millennial bloom. Their plan aims to unleash the Horror's destructive power upon the capital and directly target the Emperor.
Their actions trigger the central conflict, compelling the Makai Knights—Raikou, Seimei, Kintoki, and Yasusuke—to intervene and contain the threat. The Knights ultimately succeed in stopping the Horror and thwarting Tokimaru's revenge plot. Following the crisis, Emperor Michinaga faces arrest due to his demonstrated disregard for the capital's safety during the events. Tokimaru's fate after the Horror's defeat remains unspecified. His appearances remain confined to these events.
